:: Pick the Derby winner? Neither did I. But plenty of people did have Giacomo, including 2 bettors who picked the entire superfecta (the first four horses in the correct order of finish), which paid the handsome sum of $1.7 million. Nice.

:: The new flick Kingdom of Heaven topped the box office this weekend, with about $20 million in sales. It's an epic movie, in the vein of Gladiator and Troy, set in the 1100s against the backdrop of the Crusades. I got to see it, and I enjoyed it immensely.

:: Monday Mets Report Although Cliff Floyd's hit streak ended this week, Mike Piazza and Carlos Beltran started hitting some round-trippers, and the Mets were able to win a few games before losing on Sunday. They're only 3.5 games back from the division leading Braves. Current record: 17-15
