The Devil and Sherlock Holmes

Collecting articles he had researched and published in years
past, Grann has pieced together a set of true stories that
reveal the “madness and obsession” that so often characterize
the human race. From innocent criminals to ruthless mob bosses
to baseball players and tunnel diggers, Grann covers a wide
swath of humanity in an engaging and often grabbing manner.
While some tales are more forgettable than others, the sum of
the parts warrants the time invested.

Still one of the few fully-explored areas of the world, does the
Amazon jungle hold a secret civilization? Percy Fawcett was
among those who believed so, and he entered the Amazon jungle in
search of proof. He was never heard from again. Nearly a century
later, Grann embarked on his own quest to discover what happened
to Fawcett and to see if he could find the legendary lost city.
A gripping tale of obsession and loss.
