The Infinite Day

The conclusion to the Lamb Among the Stars trilogy finds Merral
D'Avanos fighting against the evil Dominion, who are blazing a
destructive path straight toward Earth. But enemies within the
Assembly and doubts in D’Avanos’ mind threaten to crush the
Assembly before the first shot is fired. These tensions are
developed nicely and, while not perfect, this story provides a
superb ending to an amazing saga. Ending well can be difficult,
but not in this case.

The saga continues with our first glimpse of Earth and a peek
into the Dominion. This trilogy remains a compelling look at
evil and its often subtle effects on humanity. It also remains a
first-rate science fiction work, avoiding the tediousness that
at times plagued the first book. As the middle of a trilogy, it
lacks closure, but is highly entertaining (and riveting). It's
told so well that I am disappointed there's only one book left.

The Shadow and Night

This book, the first in a trilogy, fuses a Christian framework
with a science-fiction setting in the far-distant future. Things
start rather slow, but by taking the time to carefully establish
this world and its rules, the effects of later events
reverberate all the more. Although some conflict is resolved,
most of the story remains open for the next book to resume.
Solid writing, with generally compelling characters, substantial
tension, and an appropriate sense of grandeur.
